Monica Bradley – Founder & Managing Director

I knew from an early age that I didn’t want to work for anyone else. I started out in my early 20s on a self-employed basis advising on investments, inheritance tax, family protection and pensions. I spent five years developing my skills and taking exams. My job took me out to visit many clients in person and I now look after the mortgage needs of some of their children!

Over time, I developed a passion for mortgages, so I chose to specialise in this area and formed MB Associates. 

Although I oversee the growth of the business, I also still have my regular clients, many of whom I have known for years. I still enjoy arranging mortgages, but as the business continues to grow, I will need to spend more time focusing on the bigger picture of the company. Fortunately, I have a fantastic team of skilled mortgage and protection advisers so I can afford to step back from client-facing tasks.

I have been working in financial services since 1987 and am still hugely motivated and ambitious. I am definitely keen to encourage younger people to join the industry and let them see how rewarding and fulfilling it is for those prepared to work hard. We have recruited three young trainee paraplanners who are learning about the industry and will eventually become mortgage advisers.

My business continues to grow, and we are about to open a new mortgage shop in Sutton in addition to our existing two offices in Cheam Village. I am eager to grow our protection and later life borrowing departments. I haven’t given retirement a thought – I love my work and am excited about our plans for future expansion!
